  8. muffler or
  9. resonator and
  10. brings the muffled
  11. exhaust gases out
  12. to the rear of the
  13. car.  The tailpipe
  14. is important
  15. because it keeps
  16. toxic gases from
  17. collecting
  18. underneath and
  19. inside the
  20. passenger
  21. compartment.
